Darien Colonial

Located in back country Darien, previous city-lifers relocated their family to the charming village in hopes for a peaceful homestead. Having no recent renovations within the last few decades, Becca Interiors worked to reinvent the home to not only update it to suit the needs of the family, but also cast new life into it. Starting at the heart of the home, a gut renovation of the kitchen was implored, implementing a custom stucco hood, accompanied by a customized 13’ island. Brightening up the family room and taking advantage of the floor to ceiling windows, allowed the space to open up; better capturing the bucolic neighboring views of Wee Burn Country Club. To formalize the living room and powder room we turned to darker tones to cozy up the homes quirky layout and allow the owners of the home to enjoy an area with a more grown-up setting. But our thinking didn’t stray far from the young families needs, and after a custom bunk bed was requested, the fun really had begun. Brass posts were custom created to outfit a bunk bed system, laying grounds for many exciting sleepovers to be had. Collected, customized, and antique pieces were implemented throughout the outfit of this home making it a true labor of love. This nearly 8000 sq/ft home no longer lives as a home from the past, but is now reinvigorated leaving enough room for its new family to make countless fond memories.
